a very blessed new year to all. cny is coming in a few days, how soon. it`s 2010 alr. i was enjoying my 2009 so much, i din really wan it to end. :( anyways, as the new year was approaching, i was feeling rather worried about my future, not knowing wat it holds. as u read in my earlier blog posts, i have yet to find a job. yes i am still jobless. i can no longer call myself a student. :( i am officially classified as unemployed. T_T
so anyhoos, being unemployed and worried and anxious and skeptical about the unknown future, i couldn`t do much, but continue my search for a job. the start of the year totally did not make any thing any better. i fell really sick on new years day. and it dragged on for close to 2 weeks. T_T this was the sickest (if there`s sucha word) i`ve ever been as far as i rem. and then jus as i got well in the 3rd week of jan, i fell sick AGAIN. not as sick this time, but bad enuff for me to need to stay home and rest. so almost my entire jan was spent at home sleeping/watching endless tv/eating/using the com all day. not very nice i`d say. rather depressing too cos there was world war 3 going on at home. well, it`s kinda not ended yet. T_T i`m not in the mood to go into details. but anyways, it`s not been a pleasant 2010 for me.
well despite all this that`s happening, i`ve been praying and stuff. God has spoken to me a few times and that`s just wat i wanted to share. becos i think that`s really what`s keeping me going in spite of the difficulties i face.
as i was praying about some issue that really upset me one night a few weeks back, i read the bible and God said to me:
Colossians 3:2 "Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things."
verse 13 "Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you."
...
how apt were these 2 verses which really stood out among the rest in Colossians 3. well, u may not understand, but the things happening ard me then wasnt something to be very pleased and happy about.
just 2 days back, i was reading one of my devotions which talks about the role of the apostle Peter. the verses given were on the passage Jesus Walks On Water. there was a huge storm and the disciples in the boat at sea were afraid. so Jesus walked to them in the stormy waters.
Matthew 14: 27-29
But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."
"Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water."
"Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
and at that moment, i thought of how a fren encouraged me using this passage. as i thought about the passage and what my fren said back then, God spoke to me once again. a sentence came to mind:
Even though i`m walking on stormy waters, i am walking towards Jesus.
amazing revelation. it was sucha comfort to know that even tho i may be facing/going thru difficult times, i`ve got Jesus in front of me and He is going to be right there with me as i walk thru my journey of life until i reach Him.
no words can describe how i feel now, knowing that He is in control of every situation - good or bad. like aunty susan says, usually when a bad thing happens, sth even better is coming along. i believe God is preparing the very amazing wonderful thing that`s gonna happen in my family. i cant wait. :)
i hope this entry encourages u as much as it did for me! haf a very blessed cny. may God`s love, joy and peace fill all your homes. God bless u and ur family. :)
